Fanimecon 2017
2017 ended up going way more smoothly than I had initially expected. This was my very first year having a hotel and that simple aspect made it superb. It was awesome. I ended up sharing the hotel with my girlfriend and one friend for three nights, and a different friend the other night. We didn't get to nearly as many events as we would've liked, but even still we had a blast.
Thursday: day 0
Thursday went wonderfully. I went to do badge pickup with Lulu and her boyfriend. We expected a long line and brought Pokemon monopoly to play. Me and Lulu's boyfriend ended up getting super competitive and I beat him bad right as pickup opened. It took us all of maybe 30 seconds to get our badges this year. I really hope they continue this method in the future, because it was easy. After getting our badges, I had to check into the hotel where they provided me with special FanimeCon hotel keys! I wasn't expecting it, but it made for an amazing start. After getting checked in, I went back home where I helped my girlfriend and friend pack up and we went back to the hotel to officially begin our Fanime weekend.
Friday: day 1
For the beginning off Friday, I cosplayed as Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter) for the Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts gathering that I ran with two other amazing people seen here.
The gathering was loads of fun. Great cosplayers and wonderful photographers that all had great ideas for poses that we missed. I wish we would've had more cosplayers, but it IS an anime convention. I can't wait to run it again next year!

After the Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts gathering, I went and switched into Sadao Moau from The Devil is a Part Timer where I had a Ashyia and Chiho with me. We mostly just roamed the con, hitting swap meet afterwards as well for the first time.
saturday: day 2
Saturday was quite eventful. We were up early in our Splatoon group the consisted of three inklings, green, purple, and blue, as well as Judd, to head to the Nintendo gathering where I had a guest of honor attend. The wonderful Aicosu was there and he was super friendly and nice, despite my gathering being a little hectic this year. I was glad to see so many cosplayers come out and show their passion for Nintendo.

Right after the Nintendo gathering was the Smash Bros gathering. It was definitely smaller, but so much easier to handle because of it. Everyone was wonderfully helpful and friendly! I fear that Smash Bros may continue to get smaller and smaller, but I'll continue to run the gathering for as long as the demand is still there.

Found out after the Smash Bros. gathering that I'd gotten sun burnt from being out for so long, but oh well, I'll just be more careful next year. We went back to the hotel and relaxed before getting into comfy clothes and heading out for a little late night fun. We went to Yaoi Bingo which I sadly can't go into a lot of detail since it was an +18 event, but it was lot of fun. Of course after all that excitement, we were exhausted and went back to hotel to crash.
sunday: day 3
Sunday was a nice day for us. We did Eeveelutions for our cosplay, consisting of Umbreon, Sylveon, and Jolteon. We used the day to go cosplay photo hunting and shopping. We spent most of our money in the Artists Alley where I found my absolute favorite keychain of my husbando Prince Sidon. As for events, we attended a panel called "Poke-Scandolus." It was all about all the inappropriate aspects in the Pokemon series, TV show, manga, comics, everything. Most of it was absolutely hilarious. My friend loved it, but I'd seen most of it before. It was a real eye opener to how "naughty" Pokemon can truly be.
monday: day 4
Monday was used as a laid back day. I was the only one in cosplay, bringing Sadao Maou back out since he was my comfiest cosplay of the weekend. We hit Dealers Hall and Artists Alley for the last time of the weekend and got the last of our photos. Mostly just took it as a calm and quiet day.
